Wilma Musgrave Coulter

Wilma Ruth Musgrave Coulter, 85, of Carmi, passed away at 11:10 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in Mcleansboro, IL.  She was born October 12, 1931 in Pond Creek, Wayne County, IL, the daughter of Marvel "Doc" and Nellie (Vaughn) Waln.  She married Emmett Lowell Musgrave on June 4, 1950 he preceded her in death on October 22, 1984. She later married Russel Coulter Jr on March 12, 1992 he preceded her in death on August 3, 2002. She was a secretary/bookkeeper and oil producer, She owned and operated Dennis Paine Service company since 1984. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star and was Carmi Citizen of the Year in 1988. Ruth loved antiques, enjoyed horseback riding, golf, traveling and playing bridge.

Ruth is survived by two sons, Frank and Jill Musgrave and John Musgrave of Carmi; a brother Allen Waln of Golden Gate, IL; four grandchildren, Kathleen and Joey Fulkerson, Lauren and Nathan Whetstone, Matthew Musgrave, and Meagan and Tyler Drone; seven great-grandchildren, Tyson and Tiffany Musgrave, Austin Ritcheson, Carly Fulkerson, Nolan and Jonah Drone, Makayla Blazier, Gage Whetstone; a great-great grandchild Levi Musgrave; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Billy Musgrave; three brothers, Ivan, Carroll and Paul Waln; and four sisters, Mary Johnson, Norma Hosty, Doris Rowen, and Kathleen McGowan.

Funeral services for Wilma Ruth Coulter, 85, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 24, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Tim Gholson officiating. Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Visitation will be at  4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to Riley Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.  Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
