Wilma A. James, 97, of McLeansboro formerly of Enfield passed away at 7:00 p.m., Friday, December 26, 2014 at Hamilton Memorial Nursing Center in McLeansboro. She was born in Evansville, IN on October 20, 1917 the daughter of William A. and Laura D. (Ashby) Shaw. Wilma married Fred Edward James on September 24, 1935 and he preceded her in death on August 20, 1979. She was a member of Enfield Christian Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Wilma is survived by four daughters, Carole Pollard of Deerfield Beach, FL, Cindy Phelps and husband Glenn of Marion, IL, Dixie DeWitt and husband Bill of Carmi and D'Annette Miller and husband Mark of Williston, ND; two sons, Fred W. James of Marion, IL and Thomas James and wife Karen of Loveland, CO; a daughter-in-law, Donna James of Carmi; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Donald R. James, a son-in-law, Dean Pollard, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral Services for Wilma A. James, 97, of McLeansboro formerly of Enfield are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Braden Willis officiating. Burial will be in Enfield Cemetery. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Sunday from 1:00 p.m., until service time.
