William "Bill" Newman

William S. "Bill" Newman, 94, of Marion, formerly of Enfield passed away at 9:30 p.m., Friday, February 9, 2018 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. He was born July 16, 1923 in Enfield, IL the son of Howard Thomas and Nellie (Land) Newman.  Bill married Fay Kinsey on February 19, 1949.  He was a truck driver for 30 plus years and retired from ThermaGas.  Bill also farmed and enjoyed gardening.  He was a member of Bethel Methodist Church.

Bill is survived by his wife of 68 years, Fay; a daughter, Cathy Newman of Marion; and two nieces, Judith Morris and Sandra Paul.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Edward G. Newman.

Graveside funeral services and burial for William S. "Bill" Newman will be at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in Enfield Cemetery in Enfield, IL.  Visitation will be held Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Memorial contributions may be made in Bill's memory to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
