William Bayley

William Herbert Bayley, 82, passed away at 5:50 am on March 12, 2016, at Clark Lindsey Village in Urbana, Illinois. Herb was born May 17, 1933, in Carmi Il, the son of Herbert G. and Lena Blanche Bennett Bayley. He married Iva Jean Eadie on June 26, 1955. They were married 60 years.

Surviving are his loving wife, Iva Jean; daughters Beth Ann Ellis and husband Kevin of Carmel, IN and Jean Ellen Trubshaw and husband Jim of Mequon, WI; a son, Timothy and partner, Roger Laramee of Champaign, IL; Grandchildren, Megan (Bill) Conway of Westfield IN, Julianne (Kevin) Ludwig of Carmel, IN, David Ellis of Philadelphia, PA, Sarah Trubshaw of Chicago, IL, Jonathan Trubshaw of Nashville, TN; Great-grandchildren, Avery, Lucy, Liam, Ivy Dominc and Anthony Conway and Pearl Ludwig; and a brother, Richard B. and wife Lynn of North Carolina. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Herb graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in Accounting and a MS in Taxation. While at Illinois, Herb enjoyed the Fighting Illini Marching band and the Phi Gamma Delta fraternity. He was a Certified Public Accountant with Cooper's and Lybrand in Rockford, IL from 1957 to 1963. From there he came back to Carmi to open his CPA practice as a senior partner with Kemper, Fisher, Faust, Lawrence and Company. He retired from his own practice and went onto work for Botsch and Associates, CPA's before officially retiring in 2010.

He loved his favorite activities of playing tennis and golf, fishing, playing pool, ping-pong, and playing the saxophone and clarinet. He loved spending time with his family at Barkley Lake where boating was a constant activity.

Funeral services for William Herbert Bayley will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Carmi, with Rev. David Eadie officiating. Burial will be in Union Ridge Cemetery near Norris City. Friends may call from 5:00 until 7:00 pm on Monday, March 14 at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
