William Barnes, Sr

William T. Barnes, Sr., 75 of Maunie died Wednesday morning July 30, 2014 at his home. He was born January 19, 1939 at Maunie, the son of William E. and Jenny Marie (Stull) Barnes.

Bill was an over the road truck driver for most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a friend to all.

He is survived by 2 sons, William Arthur Barnes of FL and William T. Barnes, Jr. of Maunie; 2 daughters, Sandra Lea Barnes Betts of IN and Linda G. Smith of TX; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Bobby Jack Barnes and 1 sisters, Rita Marie Frashier.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi, with Rev. Sonny Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Big Prairie Cemetery.
