Willard Ray Eck, 92, of Grayville, passed away at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Meadowood Nursing Home in Grayville. He was born in Grayville, IL on May 26, 1925 the son of Clarence and Elva (Pribble) Eck. Willard married Beulah M. Christy on June 16, 1978 and she preceded him in death on February 28, 2008. He served in the US Army during World War II. Willard was a self employed carpenter and a member of the American Legion.
Willard is survived by three sons, Dan (Roxane) Eck, of Norris City, Steven R. (Kim) Eck, of North Bend, WA and Joseph O. (Deborah) Eck, of Virden, IL; daughter, Diane D. (Jerome) Naas, of Cottonwood; brother, Clarence (Dorothy) Eck, of McLeansboro; two sisters, Virginia Connolly and Janet (Gary) Baxley both of Carmi; 10 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Elva Eck, his wife, Beulah Eck, brother, Robert Eck, two sisters, Barbara Shields and Doris Ross and a granddaughter, Amy Eck Ellison.
Graveside services for Willard Eck will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Enfield Cemetery with Military Rites by Carmi VFW and American Legion. Memorial contributions may be made in Willard's memory to the American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
