Wesley Hillyard

April 3, 1925 - December 15, 2012

Cletus Wesley Hillyard, age 87, of Carmi, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2012, at Meadowood Nursing Care in Grayville. He was born April 3, 1925, in the Enfield area, the son of Rennie Elsie and Stella Beatrice (Simmons) Hillyard. He married Ruth Carolyn Sell on September 23, 1956, in the First United Methodist Church of Carmi, and she survives.

Mr. Hillyard was a farmer and a member of the Crossville United Methodist Church.

In addition to his wife, Ruth; he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Myra Hillyard of Carmi; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna and Alan Lewin of Auburn, and Iva Hillyard of Carmi; and four grandchildren, Katie (Kyle) Rynkiewich, Kristie Hillyard, Kimberly Lewin, and Alyssa Lewin.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Herbert Ackerman.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 10:00 am, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi with Reverend Jon Carroll and Harold Hughes officiating. Visitation will be Monday, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Kuykendal Cemetery.
