Wanda Williams

Wanda L. (York) Williams, 92, passed away peacefully at Rosewood Care Center in Joliet, IL on Friday, May 16, 2014. She was born at Enfield on November 8, 1921 to Tilford and Pearl (Crawford) York.

Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Ernest E. Williams, December 13, 2001, brother Ralph York and grandson, Ronald Rob, Jr. She is survived by her son Ronald (Jacqueline Rob) Williams of New Lenox, IL; three cherished grandson, Brian (Kelly Costa) Williams, James (Kristi) Williams, and Corey (Diane) Rob; six great grandchildren, Meaghan and Madisyn Williams, Skyler and Jacob Rob, and Nick and Katie Costa; a brother, Chelsea (Pauline) York of Colona, IL and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wanda was a former school teacher and employed by Sears for 30 years, retiring in 1984, after which she spent loving time with family, especially her grandkids and great grandkids. We would especially like to thank the caregivers at Rosewood and Presence St. Joseph's Hospital for their wonderful help.

Funeral Services for Wanda L. (York) Williams, 92, of Joliet will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial following in White County Memorial Garden. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in Wanda's name to Rosewood Care Center, 3401 Hennepin Dr., Joliet, IL 60431 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
