Wanda Smith

Wanda Colclasure Smith, age 78, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born September 28, 1934, in Merriam, IL, the daughter of Lowell and Hazel (Waln) Colclasure.

She had worked at Spartan’s Manufacturing in Grayvillle. Mrs. Smith attended the Stewart St. Baptist Church. She loved to sing and play with her grandkids.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Smith, of Carmi; a son and daughter-in-law, Lowell and Leasa Jordan of Burnt Prairie; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Towana and Jim Wilkerson of Hartsville, TN, Shirley and Ron Anderson of Harrisburg, Mary Davis of Carmi, and Teresa and Dennis Woodrow of Springerton; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Evelyn and David Dismang of Carmi, Misty Austin of Weedville, PA, and Ronda and Terry Baylor of Salem, IN; thirteen grandchildren; twelve step-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Lowell Colclasure and Jimmy Colclasure of Theresa, WI, Gary and Joan Colclasure of Strawberry Plains, TN; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Carolyn and Colin Armstrong of Sevierville, TN, and Pat and Rick Feucht of Brownsville, WI; and many other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lowell Colclasure and Hazel Duvall; grandparents, Donnie and Vivian Waln; a sister, Shirley Goodman Moore; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will take place in Maple Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm in the funeral home. Condolences may be left at www.stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com.
