Wanda Monroe

Renee Monroe,60, of New Haven, passed away at 8:40 a.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Pensacola, FL on September 28, 1956 the daughter of Preston Jerry and Wanda Lee (Williams) Parks. Renee married Loren Dale "Dink" Monroe on February 3, 1986 and he preceded her in death on October 25, 2016. She worked various jobs over the years, including as a housekeeper, healthcare and as a security guard.

Renee is survived by her mother, Wanda Parks of Vienna; son,  Ed (Caryn) Barton ,Jr of Rockdale, IL; daughter, Rebecca (Joe) Gould of Carbondale, IL;  brother, Mervin Parks of Vienna; two sisters, Debbie Gothard of Norris City and Mary Ruth Parks of Vienna; four grandchildren, Danielle  and Garrett Barton, and Vikter and Kiera Gould; and 8 great-grandchildren. Renee was preceded in death by her father Preston Parks, her husband Loren Monroe, two brothers. Dewayne Parks and Sanford Parks and a granddaughter Gabrielle Barton.

Visitation for Renee Monroe, 60, of New Haven, will be on Friday, March 3,  2017 from 1:00p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Renee's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
