Wanda Cummins

Wanda Ruth Cummins, 94, of Wheelersburg, OH passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.  She was born in East St. Louis, IL on July 19, 1922 the daughter of Bertis and Norma (Weasel) Chapman.  Ruth married Herman Ford Cummins on August 10, 1940 and he preceded her in death on December 30, 1982.  She was raised in the Herald General Baptist Church and was President of the Wheelersburg 55 and Over Club.

Ruth is survived by three daughters, Regena (James) Lang of Baltimore, OH, Glenda Cummins of Wheelersburg, OH, and Karen (Alfred) Cook of Lucasville, OH; three sons, Jerry (Janet) Cummins of Boonville, IN, Michael (Christine) Cummins of Auburn, IN and Tim (Jennifer) Wheelersburg, OH; a sister-in-law, Betty J. Chapman of Herald; 15 grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren, and four great-great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman, three sons, Terry Lee, Gary and Ronald Cummins; two sisters, Sybil Jean Chapman and Delores Faye Orr; and a brother, Doyle Glenn Chapman.

Funeral Services for Ruth Cummins, 94, of Wheelersburg, OH will be at 12:00 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2016 at the Herald Community Center.  Burial will follow in Union Ridge Cemetery south of Herald.  Visitation will be on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.  Memorial contributions may be made in Ruth's memory to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
