Virginia "Ginny" Janovich

January 18, 1950 — April 8, 2017

Virginia S. "Ginny" Janovich, 67, of New Haven, was called home on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at her daughter's residence in Carmi.  Ginny was born, January 18, 1950 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Fred Ralph and Virginia Evelyn (Byrd) Mead.  She married Robert Joseph Janovich in 1973 and he preceded her in passing on May 9, 2003.  She owned and operated her beloved business Ginny's Place in Carmi where she attained the love and affection of many and was a staple for 30 years at The Coffee Shop.  Ginny was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Haven.

Surviving are son, Gregory Janovich of Carmi; daughter, Chris Bowles of Carmi, IL; eight grandchildren, Kayla Harrison, Dakota Janovich, Nicholas (Morgan) Nelson, Alexis Bowles, Lucas Edmonds, Andrew Bowles, Amanda Bowles and Aiden Edmonds; three brothers, Freddie (Nancy) Mead of Coon Rapids, MN and William Alve "Bill" (Geanie) Mead of Alabama and Tony (Amy) Mead of Evansville, IN; and lifelong friends, Beth, Teresa, and Melody; close friends Larry and Keith who visited daily during her illness.  Ginny was preceded in passing by her parents Fred Ralph Mead, Virginia Evelyn (Byrd) Page and stepmother Betty Mead; her husband; a son-in-law, Ernie Bowles, Jr.; and brother, Ralph "Tim" Mead.

Funeral services for Virginia S. "Ginny" Janovich, 67, of New Haven will be held on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at  11:00 a.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.  Burial will be held in Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven.  Visitation will be Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m and after 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2017.  Memorial contributions may be made in Ginny's memory to the family to help with expenses during her illness and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of the arrangements.
