Virginia N. Kueber, age 78 of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday evening April 4, 2012 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. She was born August 15, 1933 in New Harmony, the daughter of James L. and Lillian (Smith) Means. She married Arnold M. Kueber in 1952.
Virginia worked for many years as a private sitter. She loved cooking, gardening and quilting. She had attended the Black Oak Assembly of God Church and then the New Horizon Fellowship Church in Evansville.
She is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Arnold “Micky†and Becky Kueber of Maunie, IL; Steven and Kathy of Evansville, Jeffrey A and Debbie of Valpraiso and 2 daughters, Paula Cooper of Hunington, TN and Glenda Sue Henson of DeMott, IN; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; 1 brother and sister-in-law, James E. and Mary K Means of Mt. Vernon and 2 sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and David Pierce of Evansville and Sharon and Richard Hatch of New Harmony. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Martin and Vincent and 1 sister, Barbara D. Wolf.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday April 7, 2012 at the Austin~Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon, with burial in St. Matthews Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association. Online condolences may be left at austinfuneralhome.com
