Virginia Lee Aud died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at the West River Health Campus in Evansville, Indiana. She was the only child of Cleatus "Skeet" and Minnie (Bradley) Morris, born May 4, 1920. She grew up in the Herald Community attending the Herald school and graduated from Carmi High in 1937.
She married her childhood sweetheart, Frank Aud on Oct. 3, 1940 in Charleston, Missouri where they joined their friends, Dick Clifford and Loveta Miur, in a double wedding ceremony.
Before her marriage she operated a beauty shop in New Haven, later worked in Carmi for the Carmi Times and retired from the White County Bridge Commission.
Throughout her life she enjoyed doing hand work and will best be remembered by her many crocheted items and quilts----along with her unforgettable chicken and dumplings.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank on Feb. 7, 2005 and their baby daughter, Frankie Lee on May 7, 1950. Surviving Virginia is her daughter, Angela (Charles Richard) Jones in Indiana, two grandsons, Kyle (Maretta) Jones, in Delaware and Aaron (Kristi) Jones, in Oklahoma along with two great-grandchildren, Jaylon and Cambree.
She was buried in a private ceremony, arranged by Campbell Funeral Home, on March 8, 2016 at the Herald cemetery beside her husband Frank and daughter Frankie Lee.
