Violet York

Violet “Rose” York, 88, of Springerton, died Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Wayfair Nursing Home in Fairfield. She was born January 26, 1927 in Springerton, the daughter of Elwyn O. and Phillipine Gersbacher Palmiter. She married Clayton R. York and he preceded her in death in 1989.

She was a member of Springerton Methodist Church. She had been survived by her long time companion, her doggie, Baxter.
Survivors are two brothers, Darwin (Betty) Palmiter of Utica, KY, Ronald (Ruth) Palmiter of Eddyville, KY two sisters, Dorothy Hopson and Augusta June Spears of Fairfield, and a sister-in-law, Jeanie Palmiter of Enfield. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Don Palmiter, and a sister Hazel York.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday August 20, 2015 at Hammack Cemetery at Springerton. The Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield is in charge of arragements. Online condolences may be left at stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com.
