Viola Vene

Viola Vene, 90, of Norris City, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2015 at 4:40 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Health and Rehab Center in McLeansboro. She was born on March 25, 1925 in Franklin County, Illinois, the daughter of Clemon and Mabel (Griffith) Davis. Viola married John "Hank" Vene and he preceded her in death.
Viola is survived by a sister, Patricia Sassaman of St. Petersburg, FL; several grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including Jennifer Davis of Norris City who was Viola's caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her companion of 20 years, Fred Eastwood; two sons, Johnny Vene and William Bacon; two sisters, Imogene Etters and Delores Radice; and two brothers, Thomas and John Davis.
Graveside services and burial for Viola Vene, 90, of Norris City, will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at 3:30 p.m. at Tower Heights Cemetery in West Frankfort, IL with Mike Fields officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
