Versa Gwaltney

Biography

Versa M. Gwaltney, age 91, of Carmi, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Wabash Christian Retirement Center. She was born May 18, 1921, in Burnt Prairie Twp, the daughter of Paul and Gertrude (Jordan) Gwaltney.

Versa was a Laboratory Technician who worked in St. Louis and at Smith Klein, as well as many area hospitals, including White County Hospital. She was a member of Ashland Christian Church.

She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Lois Gwaltney of Carmi; and many nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Everett and Charles Gwaltney; and two sisters, Edith and Ethel Gwaltney.

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2012, at 2:00 pm, at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of service. Pastor Braden Willis and Chaplain Mike Fields will officiate. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www.stendebackfamilyfuneralhome.com.
