Verna Rudolph

Verna M. Rudolph, 85, of Carmi passed away at 10:39 p.m., Friday, December 25, 2015 at Wabash Christian Retirement Center in Carmi. She was born in Centralia, IL on April 20, 1930 the daughter of Thomas Henry and Gertrude Elizabeth (Frazier) Wehrle. Verna had worked in customer service and as a greeter at Wal-Mart and prior to that as a secretary for the Regional Superintendent of Schools. She was a member of St. Polycarp Catholic Church.

Verna is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Dennis of Carmi; a sister, Jo Ann Kisner of Grand Island, NE; two brothers, Charles Thomas Wehrle of Arizona and John Gilbert Wehrle of Lincoln, NE; six grandchildren, Jennifer McCormick, Matthew Brown and wife Ashley, Kathleen Buchanan and husband Jimmy, Shelda Noto, Brock Dennis and Keegan Dennis and wife Glimmer; 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tony Dennis; and a brother, Robert Frazier Wehrle.

A Funeral Mass for Verna M. Rudolph, 85, of Carmi will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, December 28, 2015 at St. Polycarp Catholic Church with Father Vincent Obi officiating. Burial will be in St. Polycarp Cemetery. Friends may call at St. Polycarp Catholic Church on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi Public Library or the Wabash Christian Retirement Center and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
