Velma Durbin, 78, of McLeansboro and formerly of Omaha, IL, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014 at 2:50 a.m. at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born July 29, 1935 in New Haven, IL, the daughter of James and Edith (Ellison) Bartley. Velma married Richard Garion Durbin on June 22, 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of Dale Christian Church.
Velma is survived by her husband of 58 years, Richard of McLeansboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Greg Webb of Norris City; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, James and Alva Jean Bartley of Omaha, Dennis Bartley of Norris City, Ernest Wayne and Eileen Bartley and Gary and Betty Bartley all of Carmi; two grandchildren, Patrick (Kimberly) Durbin and Willie Moore; two step grandchildren, Healther Mitchell and Kristel Stilley; and six great-grandchildren, Brooklin Durbin, Zoey, Jagger and Ty Mitchell, Haylee and Colten Stilley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Junior, Robert, Merle and Paul Bartley.
Funeral services for Velma Durbin, 78, of McLeansboro and formerly of Omaha, IL, will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. Burial will be at White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends may call on Sunday, from 4;00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
