John Thomas Prince, 75, of Enfield passed away Thursday morning, January 26, 2017, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was born in Enfield, IL. on November 29, 1941 the son of Elmer and Emma (Williams) Prince. Tom married Janice L. Abbey on July 8, 1962 at Bethel Methodist Church at Enfield.
He loved and admired his family. They were the purpose of his life. Tom loved early morning road trips around the areafarm grounds. He would survey with wonder, pleasure, and amazement at the progress of the seasonable crops. Farming was his life and he loved his life. Tom attended Ashland Christian Church.
Tom is survived by his wife Jan of 54 years; one son Randy ( Noelle Bourisaw) of Decatur, IL.; one daughter Carmen (Kenny) Rockett of Carmi; one Grandson Jackson John-Robert Prince ( Leah Mayotte) of Boulder, Co; one GranddaughterLeigh Prince and fianc’e Brian Luerman of Louisville, Ky.; one sister Edna Pauline York of Silvia, IL. And special friends Tim, Angela, and Joslynn Phillips of Enfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Lou Williams and Marie Travelstead.
Funeral services for John Thomas Prince, 75, of Enfield will be at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon, January 29, 2017 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Enfield, IL., with Braden Willis officiating. Burial will be in the Enfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday evening, January 28, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Stendeback Family Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made in Tom’s memory to Wabash Christian Employee Fund or Ashland Christian Church Building Fund. Memorials will be accepted at Stendeback Family Funeral Home.
