Thomas Stevens

Thomas “Leroy” Stevens, 56 of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, June 9, 2004 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Leroy was born June 1, 1948 in Sikeston, Missouri and graduated from East Prairie High School. He was a Pipeline Welder with Local 798 in Tulsa, OK. Leroy was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Stevens.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Carroll) Stevens of Mt. Vernon; daughters Kristy of Missouri and Robin of Louisiana; His mother and step-father, Emma Jean and Ted Stearns of Missouri; two brothers Everett “Butch” Stevens and his wife, Netta of Louisiana and Don “Waco” Stearns and his wife Candace of Missouri, a sister and brother in law, Melodie and Bob Robins of Missouri and grandchildren. Leroy is also survived by his mother in law Esther Carroll of Mt. Vernon and Brother in law, Wayne Carroll of Mt. Vernon, sister in law, Judy Benton of Terre Haute and Sister and brother in law, Mary and Gordon Weddle of Campbellsville, KY and several nieces and nephews
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, June 14, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN with Rev. Tom Buffington and Dr. Franklin Dummond officiating. Burial will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Sunday at Austin Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.
