Thomas Cain

Thomas E. "Tom" Cain, 72, of Nashville, GA formerly of Carmi passed away at 11:48 a.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA. He was born on December 16, 1941 in Chicago, IL the son of Joseph Eugene and Anna (Morris) Cain. Tom married Helen Ruth "H.R." Campbell on June 8, 1963. He had worked as a plant manager at various food and egg processing plants. Tom was a member of First Baptist Church in Nashville.

Tom is survived by his wife of 50 years, H.R. of Nashville, GA; two sons, James P. "Jim" Cain of Clarksville, OH and Robert S. "Bob" Cain of Louisville, KY; a grandson, Shaun P. Cain of Clarksville, OH; a special family friend, Kathryn McClellan of Atlanta, GA; three brothers and sisters-in-law, William J. and Nancy Cain of Bolingbrook, IL, John M. and Celia Cain of Austin, TX and Roger N. and Rosa Cain of Chicago, IL; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Donald L. and Joyce Campbell.

Funeral Services for Thomas E. "Tom" Cain, 72, of Nashville, GA will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 15, 2014 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Timothy Bell officiating. Burial will be in North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi. Friends may call at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi on Saturday after 11:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made in Tom's memory to First Baptist Church of Nashville, Caring Place, 301 W. Washington Ave., Nashville, GA 31639 and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi.
