Thelma Gallo

Thelma Gallo, age 65 of Mt. Vernon, IN, died Saturday November 21, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born May 4, 1944 at Springerton, IL, the daughter of Fred and Voneida (Nipper) Atkinson.


Mrs. Gallo was a homemaker.


Thelma is survived by her husband Pete J. Gallo; one son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Kathy Franks of Mt. Vernon; two daughters and sons-in-law, Voneida and Ron Salee of Mt. Vernon and Leisa and Darrel Pettyjohn of Mt. Vernon; one step son and his spouse, James and Mary Gallo of Maryland; three grandchildren, Janet Lynn Stephens, and Brandon and Brent Kyle Pettyjohn; four great-grandchildren, Darren, Nathan, Hailie and Shane; one brother and sister-in-law Billie and Leola Atkinson of McLeansboro, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents.


Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2009 at the Austin~Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th Street, Mt. Vernon, IN. Visitation will be from 4-7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left at austinfuneralhome.com
