Terry Dean Murrow 59. of Carmi, passed away, Sunday, May 12, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Harrisburg, IL on January 26, 1960 the son of Claude and Carolyn Jean (Ledbetter) Murrow. He married Christine Dawn Novy on January 28, 2006. Terry served as a tactical wire operations specialist in the United States Army from 1978 to 1981. He worked for Russel Oil Company for over 30 years where he most recently managed the Galatia and Eldorado Hardware Stores. Terry was a member of the First Christian Church where he served on the communion team. He was active in the White County Republican Party where he served as the County Chairman. Terry enjoyed his work and loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed Contemporary Christian music and attending concerts with his wife.
Terry is survived by his wife, Christine; son, Justin Adam Murrow, of Clearwater, FL; three sisters, Beverly (Allen) Alvey, Brenda (Greg) Gervais and Kimberly Dawn Hubbard, all of Harrisburg; two step-sons, Justin Tanner (Mandee) Trowbridge, of Kingman, AZ and Miles Warren Trowbridge, of Harrisburg; two step-daughters, Emily Kate (David) Cunningham, Barnhart, MO and Madeline Brooke Trowbridge, of Cape Girardeau, MO; 14 grandchildren, Lisa, Odin, Ansley, Gracelyn, Jordan, Gabriel, Abigail, Annabelle, Benjamin, Samuel, Owen, Charlotte, Ruth and Theodore; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Lisa Gail (Brooks) Murrow and two infant children, Joseph Edward and Brandi Nicole Murrow.
Funeral services for Terry Dean Murrow, 59, of Carmi, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Carmi. Burial will be in Big Prairie Cemetery in Carmi with Military Rites by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at the First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Terry's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
