Sullivan Coburn

Sullivan “Sully” Michael Coburn, 9 of Mt. Vernon died Wednesday evening, October 21, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville. He was born on October 2, 2000, the son of Phillona Gross and Michael Coburn.


Sully was a Third Grade student at West Elementary in Mt. Vernon. He enjoyed 4-wheeling, hunting, tractors and all outdoor activities.


He is survived by his mother and her fiance, Phillona Gross and Dennis Steele of Mt. Vernon; his father, Michael Coburn of Booneville; a ½ brother, Michael Coburn, Jr. and a ½ sister, Misty Coburn, both of Booneville; his maternal grandparents, Phillip and Toni Ann Gross of Mt. Vernon; his paternal grandmother, Mary McGuire; and several great aunts and uncles, aunts, uncles and cousins including a special aunt Heather Yeida. He left many, many friends who were special in his life.


Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Austin-Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Weiss Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
