Sue Harness

Sue B. Harness, 90, of Grayville, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 7:35 a.m. at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born February 5, 1923 at Burkburnett, Texas, the daughter of Edgar and Jennie (King) Steele. Sue married Warren Gene Harness on July 8, 1941 and he preceded her in death August 27, 1984. She was a homemaker and attended Stewart Street Baptist Church in Carmi.
Sue is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Roger Gates of Elwin, IL and Wanda and Drew Haley of Carmi; a son, John Harness of Granite City, IL; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; five sisters, Sara, Jan, Evelyn, Nora and Laverne; two brothers, Edward and Kenneth; and a grandson, Ian Haley.
Private graveside funeral services for Sue B. Harness, 90, of Grayville, will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 with burial in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
