Sue Goff

Norma  "Sue" Goff, 83 of New Harmony passed away Saturday January 21, 2017 at Charlier Hospice in Evansville. She is the daughter of Bernice and Elbert Mathew.

In Sue's early years she worked at Indiana Bell as a Phone Operator; Wayne Feeds where she was known as "Sunshine Sue". Then she retired from Production Credit Association after 35 years of service. She was a member of Mt. Vernon First United Methodist Church. She and Austin had both served on the cemetery board of Old Beech Cemetery. She enjoyed woodworking and needle crafts, making things for her daughters and grandchildren.

Sue is survived  by her two daughters, Karen (Jim) Switzer of Clinton, MO, and Vicky (Jeff) Greenwell of New Harmony; six grandchildren, Layne Edwards of Prairie Village, KS, Amanda  Greenwell of Panama City Beach, FL, Jessica (Travis) LaFarge of Clinton, MO, Joel  (Kelley) Switzer of Shawnee Mission, KS and Tyler Switzer of Shawnee Mission, KS, and Daniel Greenwell, who is serving in the US Navy and stationed at Great Lakes, IL; two great-grandchildren, Alexander and Kaelyn Edwards of Edmond, OK; her brother, Don Steven and Paula Mathew of New Harmony. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin and her brothers, Elbert Elwood Mathew, Jr. and Kent Lee Mathew.

Stendeback Family Funeral Home, 1330 E. Fourth St., Mt. Vernon, IN, is in charge of arrangements with visitation scheduled for Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm, and Tuesday January 24th at 1:00 pm until the time of funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will take place in Old Beech Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of floral or other memorials, donations be made to the Farmersville Elementary School or First United Methodist Church of Mt. Vernon.
