Steven Lee Smith, 33, of Carmi, passed away at 11:35 a.m., Thursday, November 16, 2017 at the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in Carbondale, IL on February 20, 1984, the son of Tracy Steven and Leanna (Kinnear) Smith. He was raised by Don Cruse. Steven was a 2003 graduate of Carmi White County High School and went on to attend Wabash Valley College on a baseball scholarship. He worked for Precision Oil Company in Olney, IL. Steven excelled in sports being a four sport letter recipient in football, basketball, baseball and track in high school.

Steven is survived by his mother, Leanna (Doug) Little, of New Harmony, IN; three sons, Blayne, Jace and Greyson; sister, Chrissy Smith, of Carmi; grandparents, Joe and Iona Hall and Stephen and Diana Smith, of Carmi; girlfriend, Charley Miller; nephews, Mason, Easton and Cade; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Tracy Smith, his dad, Don Cruse and grandfather, David Kinnear.

Funeral services for Steven Lee Smith, 33, of Carmi, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Rev. Mark Tate and Chris Pollard officiating. Burial will be in Kuykendall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 20, 2017 at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Steven's memory to an Education Fund for his children and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi who is in charge of arrangements.
