     Steven Lee Neal, 67, of Norris City, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on January 30, 1956, in Benton, Illinois, the son of Frank Holten and Delores Rosan (Sanders) Neal. Steve graduated from Norris City Omaha High School in 1974. Steve worked as a mechanic and a welder. He later carried on his father's business and became owner of Neal's Lawn and Garden on Forrest Street in Norris City. Steve enjoyed drag racing and tinkering with anything that had a motor.

    Steve is survived by his daughter, Aftan Rumsey of Princeton, Ky; a grandchild, Harper; siblings, Delana (Bryan) Smith of Newburgh, IN, Dennis (Sheilah) Neal of Norris City, IL. and Brian (Pat) Neal of McLeansboro, IL; nieces and nephews, Jeff (Courtney) Neal, Julie (Brandon) Simmons, Jeremy Neal, Byron (Tabitha) Neal, Megan (Dominic) Turi, Jacob (Chandler) Schutte and Nathan (Sydney) Schutte; and numerous great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.

    A visitation to celebrate the life of Steve Neal, will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. A graveside service with inurnment will immediately follow at  I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Norris City. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Steve's memory to the  Norris City Masonic Lodge, May Lodge #718 in Norris City, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City who is in charge of arrangements.
