     Stanley Ray Austin, 80, of Carmi, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2024, at St. Vincent Medical Center in Evansville, Indiana. He was born on December 18, 1943, in Norris City, the son of Ivan Maurice and Ruby Novella (Vickers) Austin. Stanley worked as an electrician, and later retired from Pattiki Coal Mine in Carmi. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Stanley was a past member of the VFW and American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman. Stanley loved to hunt, fish and travel.

     Stanley is survived by his sons, Kevin Austin of Carmi, IL. and Brian (Stacy) Austin of Mt. Vernon, IN; grandchildren, Kayla (Brandon) Weaver, who was the first girl born in four generations, and named after her great-grandmother, Breckan Austin, Kyle Austin, Brylie Austin, Kasen Austin and Brennan Austin; great-grandchildren, Ember Weaver and Cain Weaver; and a brother, Mike Austin of Norris City, IL. He is preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ronnie Austin.

    Family and friends will gather to remember Stanley Ray Austin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024, at Ditney Ridge Cemetery in Norris City. Full military rites will be provided by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Daughters of the American Revolution and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City, and may be mailed to 609 W. Main St. Carmi, IL. 62821.
