Sonja Rose Hall, 81, of Enfield passed away at her home on Thursday, February 10, 2022. She was born in Carmi, IL on May 30, 1940 the daughter of Chelsea Vertis and Martha Rose (Lamp) Coale. Her mother passed away when she was young and her father married Grace Lasswell who helped raise Sonja. She married Jerome Clark, and together they had a daughter, Denise. Sonja later married Harry Wayne Hall and he preceded her in death on July 26, 2013. Later that year, she returned to White County to be closer to her family. Sonja Rose worked as a Pharmacy Technician at the University of Illinois as well as serving as a stewardess to the union. Shee was an avid reader and seamstress as well as doing crafts.
Sonja Rose is survived by her daughter, Denise (Terry) Harrison of Enfield; three grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) Taylor of Mill Shoals, Patrick (Holli Musgrave) Harrison of Enfield and Brooke Harrison of Enfield; seven great-grandchildren, Ryleigh, Remington, Stetson, Khloe, Waylon, Axel and Cora; two brothers, Vernon (Linda) Coale of Springfield, MO and Ronald (Patricia) Coale of Jerseyville, IL; along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Grace Coale, who raised her, and two brothers, Larry Coale and Rodney Coale.
Sonja Rose Hall, 81, of Enfield will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2022 at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Burnt Prairie. Visitation will be held on Monday from noon until service time at Stendeback Funeral Home in Enfield. Memorial contributions may be made in Sonja Rose's memory to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at Stendeback Funeral Home.
