Shirley Hinton

Shirley Ann Hinton, 69, of Equality, IIlinois, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana.  She was born on March 8, 1953, the daughter of Jessie James and Goldie Weaver (Shelton) Brown.  Shirley married Joseph Micheal Hinton on June 23, 1973, and he preceded her in death on October 21, 2007.  She worked at Addus Home Health.  Shirley enjoyed watching western and classic movies, reading, trail walking, and most of all, spending time with family.

Shirley is survived by her children, James (Teresa) Hinton of Equality, IL, and Melissa (Daniel) Wiseman of Equality, IL; grandchildren, Jasmine (Dakota) Byers, Dakota Hinton, Haley Hinton, Kevin Wiseman, Micheal Wiseman and Joseph Wiseman; a great-grandson, Thomas Byers and one on the way; siblings, Bobbie Brown, Jackie Brown, Merry Kathleen Brown, and Brenda Griggs; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Shirley Hinton will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 24, 2022, at Equality United Methodist Church in Equality, Illinois with burial at Leamington Cemetery in Gallatin County.  Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at Equality United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Shirley's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist the family with funeral expenses. Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City is in charge of arrangements.
