Sherrill L. Ward, 56, of Carmi passed away at 5:20 a.m, Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born in Elgin, IL on July 13, 1959 the daughter of Jack C. and Shirley (Karsten) Clarke. Sherrill married William E. "Bill" Ward on February 3, 1978. She worked as the operations manager for Spartan Staffing in Mt. Vernon, IN. Sherrill loved her family, friends and her dogs.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Bill of Carmi; two daughters, Marsha (Robert) Smith of Montgomery, IL and Andrea (Brian Malone) Murphy of Fairfield; two sons, Kevin (April) Ward of Murfreesboro, TN and Brian (Adaliz) Ward of South Elgin, IL; three sisters, Karen Plutz of Kingston, IL, Christine (Bill) Funk of Huntley, IL and Melody Clarke of Rockford, IL; two brothers, Jack Clarke of Mountain Home, AR and Tim (Patricia) Clarke of Milwaukee, WI; and six grandchildren, Jaxon and Austyn Ward, Aydan Ward, Charlee Smith, William Murphy and Annabell Malone.
Visitation for Sherrill L. Ward, 56, of Carmi will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan B. Koman Foundation, 4424 Vogel Rd # 205, Evansville, IN 47715 or will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
