Sherri Lynn Brown

Sherri Lynn Brown, 87, of Carmi, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Wabash Senior Living and Rehab in Carmi. She was born on August 31, 1937, in Chicago, IL., the daughter of Michael and Alyce (Smith) Limpich. She married Robert Earl Brown on August, 3, 1957 at the First Baptist Church, where they were members. They shared over 40 years of marriage until his passing on December 9, 2000. Sherri and Bob built two homes together doing the majority of the work themselves, most importantly they built a legacy of love. Sherri enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family, and her dog, Cody, whom she had for 17 years. While primarily a homemaker, she also worked as a butcher at Cook's Grocery and a bookkeeper. Sherri had a passion for electronics, and how they worked. She built her own computers and enjoyed learning about and using new technology. 

Sherri is survived by her children, Cary Brown of Chicago, IL. and Lisa (Martin) Koontz of Indianapolis, IN.; siblings, Carol Cutchin of Carmi, IL. and Michael Limpich of Ventura, CA.; grandchildren, Damon Horn, Andrew Karch, and Kyle Koontz; great-grandchildren, Violet Horn and Abby Koontz; and nephews, James Cutchin, Neal Cutchin, and Ben Limpich. She is preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Alyce Limpich, and husband, Robert Earl Brown. 

Funeral services for Sherri Lynn Brown will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with burial at North Maple Ridge Cemetery in Carmi, Illinois. Family and friends may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sherri's memory to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi, who is in charge of arrangements.
