Sharon Green

Sharon M. Green 71 of Mount Vernon, passed away Wednesday May 13, 2015 at her home. She was born April 21, 1944 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Herbert and Mildred (Brakie) Wilhite.

Sharon had worked as a secretary with the Vanderburgh County Courts and for the last 25 years had worked as a secretary at South West Mental Health. She was always very involved with her church ladies groups. She was a member of the Mount Vernon General Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy (Keith) Hyatt of New Harmony. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her dog Maggie. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, George "Red" Wilhite and sisters, Mary "Tootsie" Phillips and Norma McIntire.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 16, 2015 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home at 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with Pastor Curt Mort and Ron McIntire officiating.
