Shannon Nation

Shannon Lea Nation, age 37 of Mt. Vernon, IN, died Wednesday afternoon January 13, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born June 12, 1972 in Fordyce, Arkansas, the daughter of Doyle L. and Chloe (Evans) Patterson. She married Robert L. Nation on March 8, 1996 in Henderson, KY and he preceded her in death on April 11, 2009.


Mrs. Nation was a homemaker. She was a certified nurses assistant. She belonged to the Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Thornton, Arkansas.


She is survived by two sons, John Wayne and Donald Ray Nation; her father and step-mother, Doyle L. and Doris Patterson of Bearden, Arkansas; one sister, Vonnie Regina Lafever of Grabill, IN; a step-brother, Barry Evans IV of Fordyce, Arkansas; and a step-sister, Rhonda Brown of New Edinburg, Arkansas. In addition to her husband, Robert, she was preceded in death by her mother, Chloe Patterson.


Funeral services will beheld at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at the Austin-Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, IN. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
