Sandy Douthitt

Sandy Jean Douthitt, 50, Carmi, passed away to join her Father in Heaven on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Hamilton Memorial Hospital in McLeansboro. She was born October 2, 1964, in Eldorado, Illinois, the daughter of Robert E. and Sandra Kay (Vailes) Bartley. She was married to Donald Douthitt Jr.

Sandy had worked as postal clerk and store operator in Emma Township at the Concord Post Office for several years before going to work for the White County States Attorney and attended Concord Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, loved the lake, and being outdoors.

Survivors include her husband of 32 years Donnie Douthitt of Carmi, Mother Sandra Cutchin, her Mother-in-law Pearl Douthitt, one daughter Ryse and fiancAC. Kalin Brinkley, a son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Brianne Douthitt and future grandson-to-be Ryder, a sister Shannon Lyn and Mike Henson, a brother and sister-in-law Robert E. and Darlene Bartley, brother-in-law David and Michelle Douthitt, sister-in law Teresa Raney; many nieces and nephews who she loved so much.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Robert E. Bartley Sr., and her Father-in-law Donald Douthitt Sr.

Funeral Services for Sandy Jean Douthitt will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2015, at the Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery, in Emma Township. Memorial Contributions may be made in Sandy's memory to the Carmi-White County High School Golf Team and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
