Ruth "Ruthie" (Phillips) Gregory, 54, of Omaha, IL, passed away Friday, August 17, 2012 at 7:40 a.m. at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado. She was born June 2, 1958 in Houma, Louisiana, the daughter of Charles Alva and Winnie Margaret (Trosclair) Phillips. She married Stephen Estell Gregory October 12, 1996. Ruthie was a longtime cashier at Walmart in Carmi and a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Norris City.

Surviving are her husband of 15 years, Stephen Gregory of Omaha; her mother, Winnie Phillips of Norris City; a daughter, Lina Lynnette LeBlanc of Jefferson, LA; a son and daughter-in-law, Shasha Jason and Heather LeBlanc of Herrin, IL; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Mona Faye and Andrew Pitre of Houma, LA, Sandra and Eddie Matrana, Lisa and Andy Elliott and Charlene Stover all of Norris City, and Donna Moore of Whitney, TX; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Wayne and Sandy Kay Phillips of Crossville, Mark and Nancy Phillips of Norris City, Glen and Rita Phillips of McLeansboro, and Charles Ray Carter of Missouri; and four grandchildren, Tristan LeBlanc, Ivey LeBlanc, Aven LeBlanc and Katelyn Weihl. Ruth was preceded in death by her father, Charles.

Funeral services for Ruth "Ruthie" (Phillips) Gregory, 54, of Omaha, will be Monday, August 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at First Southern Baptist Church in Norris City with Rev. Dennis Reed officiating. Burial will be in Powell Cemetery in Norris City. Friends may call on Sunday, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. On Monday, the body will lie in state at First Southern Baptist Church after 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
