Ruth Chaffin

Ruth (Dodd) Chaffin, 90, of Carmi, beloved wife, mother, and sister, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi.  She was born on April 26, 1931, the daughter of William Thomas Wesley and Mary Ethel (Bartley) Dodd.  Ruth married George Logan Chaffin on December 6, 1952, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2018.

Ruth is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Jeannine Chaffin of Naperville, IL; grandchildren, Julia, Sarah, Mary and Samuel; siblings, Shirley Perez, Frances Aldridge, Fern Stewart and Harley Dodd. She is preceded in death by her husband, George Chaffin; her parents; and siblings, Jason Dodd, Robert Dodd, William Dodd Jr., Marie Melton, Lucille Hays, and Minnie Klaffen.

Graveside services for Ruth Chaffin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on  Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Union Ridge Cemetery in New Haven.  Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
