Roy Clark, Jr

Roy Clark, Jr., 88 of Carmi, died Saturday evening, February 22, 2014 at Wabash Assisted Living Center in Carmi. He was born on October 12, 1925 in Osage County, OK, the son of Roy and Vola M. (Stephenson) Clark. He married Maudine Cain on July 15, 1951 in Grayville and she preceded him in death on June 10, 2010.

Mr. Clark was a Driller in the oilfields for over 60 years. He was WWII Navy veteran serving on the USS Delta. He was proud to have been selected as a member of the Veterans Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. in September 2012. He loved his church, Trinity Assembly of God in Carmi.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Revis Lee & (Janice) Clark of Kerrville, Texas; two great-grandchildren, James David Clark and Christina Nicole Clark Miller; five brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim & Marjorie Clark of Carmi, Jess & Janet Clark of Bellechasse, LA, Don & Kathy Clark of Bethalto, IL, John & Becky Clark of Carterville, IL, Jack Clark of McLeansboro; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ann & Doyle Williams and Imogene White, all of Carmi; a brother-in-law,Dwight Marshall of Carmi; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chris Clark, two sisters, Jolene Marshall and Geraldine Clark; and a brother-in-law, Dallas White.

Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Trinity Assembly of God Church in Carmi, with visitation from 11 am until the time of service. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden Cemetery. Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
