Rose Ella (O'Neal) Kiesel, 84 of Fort Branch, IN and formerly of Carmi, died on Sunday morning, December 15, 2013 at VNA Charlier Hospice in Evansville. She was born on November 22,1929 in Gallatin County, the daughter of Lynn and Nellie (Poshard) Harvey. She married Roy O'Neal, then divorced. She later married Henry L. Kiesel on August 18, 1991 in Henderson, KY.
Mrs. Kiesel worked as a store clerk in Carmi at PN Hirsch and the Hart Dept. Store and was co-owner of O'Neal Shoe Mart. She became active in politics when Roy ran for County Clerk, and also worked in that office upon his election. She grew up in Brownsville where she attended the Community Church and was baptized at Cherry Street Baptist. She enjoyed many hobbies including crafts, chatting on the telephone and loved to dance.
She is survived by her husband, Henry L. Kiesel of Ft. Branch; daughter and son-in-law, Judith and Bub Brazier of Shawneetown; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald “Ron” and Glenda (Lack) O'Neal of Maineville, OH; two grandchildren, Amy Nichole (Allyn) Weakley of Memphis and Glennon Bryke O'Neal of San Diego, California; two great-grandchildren, Kelsi Marie and Kirby Mitchell Weakley of Memphis; one brother and sister-in-law, Allen Ray and Mary Lou (Shirley) Harvey of Orlando; and several nieces and nephews and step-children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Lou (Vinson) Rice.
A Memorial service will be held at Noon on January 18, 2013 at Stendeback Family Funeral Home in Carmi. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service.
