Roscoe Carroll

Roscoe Carroll, 67, of Mt. Vernon died at 1:46 p.m. Thursday January 20, 2006 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born December 31, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, IN son of John and Louise (Kietel) Carroll. He worked at ADM Milling in Mt. Vernon for 25 years prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by a son, Henry E. Miller in 1983, a brother W.O. Carroll and 2 sisters, Mary Lewis and Barbara Walker.
He is survived by his wife Barbara (Braden) Carroll of Mt. Vernon; sons, Roscoe Carroll, Jr, Billie Goodman, Brian Goodman and Bruce Goodman of Mt. Vernon, IN and Sam Railey of Clay, KY; daughters, Clara Papineau of Diamond, KY, Susan Mayes of New Harmony, IN and Beverly Hanson of Mt. Vernon, IN; a brother, Freddie Carroll of Evansville,IN; sisters, Helen Gunter of Mt. Vernon, Peggy Lewis of Evansville and Lena Mae Holley of Albion, IL; grandchildren, Jason and Kristina Jolley, Joshua, Jacob and Amy Mayes, Blace Goodman, Charica Broomfield, Aaron and Adam Gamache, Amanda, Charles and Michell Marler, Alan and Katie Papineau and Roxie Railey; great-grandchildren, Madison Jolley, Kyle and Logan Mayes, Chelsea Brown, Lucas Broughton and Jody Goodman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25 at 3:00 p.m. at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Rev. Harry Wheatcroft officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home and from 9:00 until service time on Wednesday.
