Ronald Allen Witter, 61, of Mattoon, IL and formerly of Fairfield passed away Sunday, September 2, 2012 at 1:33 a.m. at Sarah Lincoln Bush Health Center in Mattoon. Ronald was born the 11th of 12 children on May 11, 1951 in Fairfield, IL to George Eugene and Carrie Alberta (Dawson) Witter. He was a patient the past several years at the Palm Terrace Nursing Home in Mattoon He was a member of National Society Sons of American Revolution, and Ellen Moore Methodist Church in Fairfield. He was disabled and worked at Fairfield Community High School as a part-time maintenance man in his early years. He also worked at the Career Development Center for awhile.

Ronald is survivied by four sisters, Doris (Bob)Thompson of Fairfield, Dorotha (Lowell) Thackrey of Carmi, Shirley Edgington of Fairfield and LaDonna (Joe) Putman of Paradise,TX; five brothers, Lowell Witter of Elgin, IL, Harold (Anita) Witter of Barnhill, Loren Witter of Mason, Leo (Donna) Witter of Mill Shoals, and Donald (Virginia) Witter of Fairfield; Nieces and Nephews Frana (Don) Legg of Fairfield; Alan (Carolyn) Bland of Fairfield, Janet (Michael) Whitchurch of Forsythe, IL, Andrea (Chris) Simpson of Fairfield, Linda (Danny) Houk of Belleville, IL; Karen (Gregg) Strawhecker of Bartlett, TN, Sharon (David) Campbell of Carmi, Pharon (Scott) Winter of Wadesville, IN, Jeanene (Garold) Shields of Bluford, Eugene Edgington of St.Louis, MO, Geoffrey Witter of Urbana, IL, Lise Skye of Lathom, IL, Franklin (Crystal)Witter of Wilson, NC, John (Alicia) Witter of Taylorville, IL, David (Dusty) Witter of Newburgh, IN, Deborah (Nicolas) Hajek of Arlington, TX, Jeremy Witter and Robert 'Bobby' Roland Witter both of Fairfield along with numerous great nieces and nephews and step-great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews and step-great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Leon Beryl and Robert 'Bobby" Lynn Witter.

Funeral Services for Ronald Allen Witter, 61, of Mattoon, IL formerly of Fairfield will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at 10:30 a.m at First General Baptist Church in Faifield with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery in Fairfield. Friends may call on Monday from 4:00 p.m.until 8:00 p.m. at First General Baptist Church in Fairfield. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made in Ronald's name to Fairfield First General Baptist Church or Ellen Moore Methodist Church in Fairfield.
