Ronald Wilkey

Ronald Reed Wilkey, 66, of Carmi, passed away at 10:07 a.m., Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. He was born in Huntingburg, IN on June 23, 1950 the son of Walter Reed and Mary Lou (Schenetzke) Wilkey. Ronald married Cathy S. Martin on April 16, 1995. Ronald graduated from Mt. Vernon IN High School in 1968. He was a United States Navy Veteran from 1968 to 1972. Ronald was a Logistics Regional Manager at GAF for 42 years and retired in August 2015. He was former member of the Mt. Vernon IN Lions Club, and the Carmi Country Club.

Ronald is survived by his wife of 21 years, Cathy; his mother, Mary Lou Wilkey of Mt. Vernon, IN; a daughter, Stacey Wilkey of Carmi; a brother, John Wilkey of Paducah, KY; a sister, Angie and Don Basham of New Harmony, IN; two grandchildren, Samantha Mosley and James Mosley; his first wife Sharon Duckworth; mother-in-law Thelma Fitzjarrald of Paris, IL; two brothers-in-law Kirt Martin of Smithfield, TN and Wes and Lori Fitzjarrald of Arcadia, FL.; a sister-in-law Suella and Mike Kirkham of Austin, TX; numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Walter Reed Wilkey.

Funeral service for Ronald Reed Wilkey, 66, of Carmi will be held at 1:30 pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden with Military Rites by the Carmi VFW and American Legion. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 26, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Campbell Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made in Ronald's memory to the Tara Glover Foundation or St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
