Ronald Mitchell

Ronald Edward “Mitch” Mitchell, 73, of Mt. Vernon, died Wednesday, March 01, 2006 at Deaconess Hospice in Evansville, IN. Ronald was born June 12, 1932 in Posey County, Indiana son of Lee and Martha Mitchell. He was a Postal Clerk at the Mt. Vernon Post Office retiring in 1994. Ronald was a US Army, Korean War Veteran and a member of Owen Dunn American Legion Post #5 in Mt. Vernon and a member of the Conservation Club. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Harold, Roscoe and Elwood Mitchell and a sister, Lelia Mitchell.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Janet (Herron) Mitchell of Mt. Vernon; 2 sons, Brent of Mt. Vernon and Rick of Austin, TX; his daughter, Tonya of Indianapolis, IN; a brother, Paul of Mt. Vernon and his sister, Elizabeth Mitchell of Beaverton, OR
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 10:00 at Austin Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with burial in the Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt. Vernon. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to First Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon.
