Robert A. Parker, 78, of Carmi, formerly of McLeansboro passed away on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Carmi Manor. He was born in Eldorado, Illinois, on July 18, 1946, the son of Thomas Abraham and Ellen Elizabeth (Harrelson) Parker. Robert faithfully served his country in the United State Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, starting at Camp Pendleton before going to Okinawa, Japan and later Danang, Vietnam. After returning from the service, Robert worked as an over the road truck driver and more recently locally for area farmers.
Robert is survived by siblings, Iona Kessler and Katherine Parker; children, Troy and Lisa; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Mona; and siblings, Charles Hutchcraft, Leroy Parker, Leonard Parker, Alma Kay Parker, Dwight Parker, Mary Elizabeth Allen, James Logan Huchcraft and Arlene Parker.
A private family service will be held at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery near McLeansboro. Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi is in charge of arrangements.
