Robert Nation

Robert Lee Nation age 55 of Mount Vernon, IN, died Saturday April 11, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Evansville, IN. He was born December 20, 1953 in Mount Vernon, the son of Roy Earl Nation, Sr. and Elizabeth (Goodman) Thomas. He married Shannon Lea Patterson on March 8, 1996 at Henderson, KY and she survives.



Mr. Nation had worked on the assembly line for a refrigeration manufacturing company. He was a United States Marine veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Owen Dunn Post #5 in Mount Vernon.



He is survived by his wife, Shannon; two sons, John and Donald Nation of Mount Vernon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy and Linda Nation of Mount Vernon and Dennis and Mary Nation of Carmi. He was preceded in death by his parents and one nephew, Kyle Nation.



Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday April 15, 2009 at the Austin Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services. Online condolences may be left at austinfuneralhome.com
