Robert Lane

Robert L. Lane, 88, of Carmi, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 2:43 p.m. in Carmi. He was born May 21, 1926 in Geff, Illinois, the son of Cecil Clyde and Eunice (Milner) Lane. Robert married Martha Catherine Smith on July 19, 1956 and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2014. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Robert was a member of First Christian Church in Carmi.

He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Linda Lane of St. Louis, MO and Todd and Penny Lane of Evansville, IN; five grandchildren, Matthew, Kailey, Scott, Sarah & Krista Lane; and a sister-in-law, Eva Lane of Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Icle Durham and Mildred Cross; and two brothers, Alfred and Ralph Lane.

Funeral services for Robert L. Lane, 88, of Carmi, will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi with Mike Fields officiating. Burial will be in White County Memorial Garden near Carmi. Friends may call on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service.

Memorials may be given in Robert's name to the Carmi Summer Recreational League and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home.
