Robert Heckman

Robert L. “Bob” Heckman, 45, of Mt. Vernon, IN died Wednesday morning in St. Lukes Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He worked for the Metropolitan School District in Mt. Vernon. He was a US Army Veteran and was a member of Moose Lodge #497 in Mt. Vernon. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion J. Heckman in 1981.
He is survived by his mother, Jennie Heckman of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Tom and his wife Alice of Mt. Vernon and Jim and his wife Peg of Mt. Vernon. Nieces, Carol, Maria and MecKenzie Heckman and one nephew, Samuel James Heckman.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, April 19, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth Street, Mt. Vernon, IN, with Rev. Russ Abel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, IN. Friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 18, 2004 at Austin Funeral Home, 1330 East Fourth St., Mt. Vernon, IN. Memorial contributions can be made to the Posey County Relay For Life or the American Heart Association.
