Robert Brauser

Biography

Robert Dale Brauser, 78 of Mt. Vernon died Thursday July 10, 2014 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. He was born December 24, 1935 in Mt. Vernon the son of Adolph A and Helen (Cole) Brauser. He married Barbara Buchanan and she preceded him in death.

Bob had worked as a welder at Babcock and Wilcox for 20 years, he also was a custodian at USI for 16 years. He was a well known umpire in the Mt. Vernon Little League program for 20 years and was honored with Bob Brauser Day for all of his efforts. He was a lifelong member of the Mt. Vernon General Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Michael Brauser of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Charles (Judy) Brauser of Oakland City; nieces and nephews, David, Steve and Roger Brauser of Evansville, James Brauser of Mt. Vernon, Marilyn Caldemeyer of Velpen, IN and Kay Claridge of Oakland City. He was preceded in death by his wife, 2 brothers, Donald E. and Richard E. Brauser; a nephew, Keith Brauser and a niece, Naomi Brauser.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday July 15, 2014 at the Stendeback Family Funeral Home, 1330 E. 4th St., Mt. Vernon with burial in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
